When it first opened on July 12, 1997, it attracted an unprecedented smash hit, drawing 14.2 million viewers and grossing 19.3 billion yen (according to a 2020 re-release, the film now attracts 15 million viewers and grosses 20.18 billion yen, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha).   A celebratory illustration featuring the main character Takumi and the goddess Norn (C) 小狐丸・アルファポリス/いずれ最強の錬金術師？２製作委員会 t has been announced that a second season of the TV anime series "Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time" will be produced. A celebratory visual has also been unveiled by Sasakama Taro, who is adapting the original work into a manga. The series is based on a light novel by Kogitsunemaru. It follows Takumi Iruma, a former office worker in his 40s, as he uses the cheat skills bestowed upon him by the goddess Norn to try again in a world of swords and magic.  The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March of this year.

(C) BanG Dream! Project It has been announced that "BanG Dream! Yume∞mita," a new TV anime series based on the BanG Dream! project, featuring the band "Yumegen Daimyu Type" (commonly known as "Yumemita") as the main characters, will be broadcast in 2026.  The animation will be produced by Nichika Line, Sanzigen's new studio brand. In addition, the animated music video (produced by Nichika Line) for "Yumegen Daimyu Type's" new song, "Tuning," has been released on YouTube. (C) BanG Dream! Project "Yumegendai Myu-Type" is a five-member girl band derived from "BanG Dream!" and began activities in 2023.  Based on the concept of "a community of destiny (band) that transcends dreams (virtual) and reality (real)," each member also posts videos as a virtual YouTuber.

  An original episode set in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture will be broadcast.
