Hayao Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke" will be screened in IMAX theaters nationwide for a limited time starting October 24th in the highest quality 4K digital remaster supervised by Studio Ghibli.
The theatrical release visuals and promotional video have been unveiled.

When it first opened on July 12, 1997, it attracted an unprecedented smash hit, drawing 14.2 million viewers and grossing 19.3 billion yen (according to a 2020 re-release, the film now attracts 15 million viewers and grosses 20.18 billion yen, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha). The film became a social phenomenon, and its epic portrayal of the conflict between humans and nature is a story that explores universal themes and depicts the intertwining fates of the protagonists Ashitaka and San, the people living at the Tatara furnace, and the gods who inhabit the Forest of the Forest God. It has received high praise both in Japan and abroad.

This 4K digital remaster brings clarity to every detail of the image, making the greenery of the forest, the expressions of the characters, and the spectacular action scenes even more striking.
In particular, when shown in IMAX, the high-definition images and clear sound create an immersive feeling that makes you feel as if you are entering the world of the story, providing a fresh and moving experience, as if you are experiencing this work for the first time.

The visuals for the IMAX theatrical release boldly feature the clay masks worn by Princess Mononoke and San.
These striking clay masks, which evoke San's sadness and anger, are sure to make a big impact on those who have seen "Princess Mononoke" as well as those who have never seen it before.

The film will be screened for a limited time at IMAX theaters nationwide from October 24th.
