The cast and staff of "Detective Conan" have long had a deep bond with Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, and this episode is a collaborative episode that embodies the production team's feelings for Ishinomaki.
Takayama Minami, who plays Conan, spoke about the episode, saying, "I wonder how many years ago this project began. I've had the opportunity to forge ties with Miyagi Prefecture through reconstruction support. I've visited Ishinomaki and Rikuzen Ono in particular several times a year, excluding the COVID-19 pandemic. Every time I visit, reconstruction progresses and the cityscape changes... The people are bright, kind, and strong. I discussed with the Conan staff whether there was anything I could do to help. I'm overwhelmed with emotion that that seed has finally come to fruition."

■Synopsis of "Ishinomaki's Hero" broadcast on September 20th.
Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and Haibara visit Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. They also meet Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta, who won a Miyagi Television campaign called "Yaiba Shonentai Wanted: Join the Team! Kamen Yaiba! Let's Fight Together!" The three will be taking part in a shoot in Ishinomaki. The day before filming, they are taken sightseeing around Ishinomaki by Kanehara Naoya, a Yaiba film crew member and assistant producer, but Conan and Haibara spot Detective Chiba. The next day, Ayumi disappears after returning to retrieve a script she forgot. It turns out that Ayumi is with Detective Chiba, and it becomes clear that the two have fallen into the hands of Dario, an overseas drug reseller operating in Ishinomaki who has also committed murder.
[Minami Takayama (role of Conan Edogawa)]
I wonder how many years ago this project first began. I have had the opportunity to forge ties with Miyagi Prefecture through reconstruction support. I have visited Ishinomaki and Rikuzen Ono in particular several times a year, excluding the COVID-19 pandemic. Every time I visit, reconstruction progresses and the streets change... People live bright, kind, and strong lives. I discussed with the Conan staff whether there was anything I could do to help. I am overwhelmed with emotion that this seed has finally come to fruition. Even during recording, I felt a surge of emotion when I read the subtitles, and I was captivated by the characters and scenery. There are places mentioned that I have never been to, and it makes me want to go back myself. I hope that everyone who watches this story will enjoy Miyagi Prefecture as much as Conan and the others. Oh, I'm leaving out the incident (laughs).
