BEASTARS" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" from 2016 to 2020. Set at "Cherryton Academy," where carnivores and herbivores coexist, the story depicts the youth of animals who are shaken by love and friendship that transcends species after a "cannibalism incident" occurs in which a carnivore kills and eats a herbivore. There are 22 volumes in total.
The anime adaptation was produced with the first season in 2019 and the second season in 2021, and "Part 1" of the "FINAL SEASON" began streaming in December 2024.

"Part 1" follows the main character, Legoshi (Kobayashi Chikahiro), who leaves school for a certain reason and enters society to start a new life. The first look at "Part 2" has been released, featuring Legoshi, his first love Haru (Senbongi Sayaka), senior Rui (Ono Yuki) who cares about Legoshi, junior members of the drama club Juno (Tanezaki Atsumi), Pina (Kaji Yuki), and underworld criminal Melon (Okino Koji), each with a serious expression on their face.

The full comment from Shinichi Matsumi, who has been the director of "BEASTARS" since the first season, is as follows:

[Shinichi Matsumi (BEASTARS director)]

The confrontation between Legoshi and Melon, Louis' resolve, and Haru's unwavering feelings. Fangs and horns clash, and friendship, love, and pride - everything is put to the test in a furious climax.
What does it mean to transcend species? Is love a strength, or a weakness?
The finale of this work is not only their story, but also a question for the world we live in. Please watch until the end.
