"Detective Conan": Sawashiro Miyuki to play Hagiwara Chihaya; Super trailer released for the latest film, the 29th installment
The start of the 29th film in the "Detective Conan" series, the latest in the series, has been announced, and the super trailer that was only shown in theaters has been made available online.
Additionally, it was revealed that Sawashiro Miyuki will be the new cast member for Hagiwara Chihaya, who is expected to be the main character in the 29th installment.
When it comes to the "Detective Conan" movie series, it is well known that a special trailer for the next film is shown at the end of each screening.
At the end of the 28th film, "Detective Conan: Flashback of the One-Eyed," which was released in April this year, a special preview of the next film, the 29th, was also shown, and from the footage of a motorcycle speeding down the highway with white wings, and Mouri Ran muttering the line, "Goddess of the Wind...", it was predicted that "next year's main character will be Hagiwara Chihaya of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police."
Meanwhile, a new cast member for the role of Chihaya was officially announced along with a special teaser.
The character was previously played by Tanaka Atsuko, who passed away in August 2024, but Sawashiro, who has been chosen as her successor, said, "I love Tanaka Atsuko. I don't often think about her because there's not a day that goes by when I forget about her. I carefully read Aoyama-sensei's original work, and I wanted to do everything I could to make sure that the voiced version of Chihaya is loved." She expressed her feelings for Tanaka and her enthusiasm for the role.
The 29th "Detective Conan" movie will be released during Golden Week in 2026.
The trailer shown this time is an updated version of the trailer that was only shown in theaters, with some changes made to the title at the end.
