At Disney's official fan event "Destination D23" held in Florida, the latest information on the long-awaited "Toy Story 5" and details of the new magical original film "Hexed" were announced.

A special screening of the first three minutes of "Toy Story 5" was shown at the venue, drawing huge cheers from fans.

Director Andrew Stanton announced that the theme of "Toy Story 5," scheduled for release in the US on June 19, 2026, will be "toys vs. technology."

He explained the direction of the film, saying, "The roles of Buzz, Woody, Jessie and their friends will be put to the test as they encounter something kids today are obsessed with: electronic devices."

The opening three-minute video, which was shown at the venue as a special feature, showed dozens of Buzz Lightyear action figures stranded on a desert island after a shipping container accident, symbolizing the situation in which these analog toys face the changes of the digital age.

It was also announced that a new character, Smarty Pants, will be voiced by popular American comedian Conan O'Brien.

Attention is focused on how this popular series, which dates back to the first film in 1995, will portray the changing environment surrounding children today.

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced a new original film, "Hexed," scheduled for release in the US in November 2026. Jared Bush, the studio's Chief Creative Officer, took the stage to reveal the title of the film, details of the project, and a new title logo.

Bush, whose credits include hits like "Moana" and "Zootopia," tells the story of a shy teenage boy and his perfectionist mother who discover their son's strange behavior is actually a hidden magical power and enter a secret magical world.

"The film blends humor, awe and heartwarming moments. It celebrates the specialness of being different and how families can unite around it," Bush said.

The concept art released shows a beautiful, magical world reminiscent of "Frozen." Expectations are high for this Disney-style fantasy film, following recent works such as "Encanto."

"Destination D23: A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney" was held at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida from August 29th to 31st.

Production teams from Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, Disney+, and Walt Disney Animation Studios took to the stage to share numerous exclusive videos and make announcements.

Numerous other announcements have also been made, including the announcement of new cast members for "Zootopia 2" (released in the US on November 26th) and the release of footage from the new Disney+ series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw" (streaming begins on December 5th).
