The Jujutsu Kaisen anime series is based on the battle action manga by Gege Akutami, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2018 to 2024. It depicts the story of Itadori Yuji, a boy who has been possessed by the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, as he enrolls in the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical College and fights against cursed spirits and sorcerers who harm people.
The anime adaptation, which was animated by MAPPA, aired its first season as a TV series in 2020. Following the release of "Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie" in 2021, the second season of the TV series, "Kaitama/Gamaori" and "Shibuya Incident," aired in 2023.
