The currently airing TV anime "Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō" will enter the "Meiji Arc" from episode 22, which will air on September 15th.
It has been revealed that Yumiri Hanamori, Toshiki Kumagai, Tomori Kusunoki, and Yume Miyamoto will appear in this arc, and a new key visual has also been released.
The original story, originally published on a novel submission website, is a Japanese-style epic fantasy novel by Motoo Nakanishi (published by Futabasha).
It depicts the life of a demon, Kuzuno Jin'ya (voiced by Taku Yashiro), who travels approximately 170 years, from the Tenpo era of the Edo period to the Heisei era, hunting demons in order to stop his sister, who has become a demon that destroys humans.
The published version consists of 14 volumes plus one spin-off volume (10 volumes have already been published in the paperback version).
The TV anime series began in March of this year as a two-season series, with the "Kuzuno Arc," "Edo Arc," and "Bakumatsu Arc" arcs having aired so far.
The "Meiji Arc," set in 1872 (Meiji 5), begins when Jin'ya, who has left Edo and is living with his daughter, Nomari (Shion Wakayama), running a soba restaurant on Sanjo Street in Kyoto, rescues a girl from demons.
Hanamori plays Kaneomi, a girl who uses the cursed sword Yatomori Kaneomi and ends up living with Jinya and his friends after being asked to defeat a demon; Kumagai plays Utsugi Heikichi, a disciple of Akitsu Somegoro (Yusa Koji), a metalworker who has a secret life as a tsukumogami user and hates demons; Kusunoki plays Himawari, a girl who is saved by Jinya; and Miyamoto plays Jishibari, a demon who appears every night on Gojo Bridge over the Kamo River.
The new key visual shows Jinya and Nomari, who have moved to Kyoto during the Meiji period, smiling at each other in front of the soba restaurant "Oni Soba."
Images of older Nomari and Somegoro have also been released.

She bears the name of a swordsmith, but what is her true identity...?
She is a fascinating character with the sharpness of a sword and the elusive personality of a cat, so I tried to act in a way that would allow you to enjoy this contrast.
Please look forward to seeing her in action!
[Toshiki Kumagai (role of Heikichi Utsugi)]

I tried to express Heikichi's earnestness and slightly stubborn side, his dislike of crooked things, as well as his admiration and respect for his master.
It's a heartbreaking depiction of meeting and parting with loved ones that transcends time, and it was a very memorable work to read, as it shows how demons, just like humans, care about others and get hurt.
[Tomori Kusunoki (role of Sunflower)]
Himawari (voiced by Tomori Kusunoki)

I'm Kusunoki Tomori, and I played Himawari.
She's very friendly and polite, but she's also calm and philosophical for her age, and each of her lines suggests that she is filled with delicate, deep emotion. I tried to portray her with care, capturing the sense of strangeness that arises from the difference between her outward impression and her words and actions.
She's a key character going forward, so I'd be happy to meet her again.

I'm Miyamoto Yume, and I'll be voicing Jishibari!
The recording was done by myself, along with Hanamori Yumiri, so it was an exciting experience as we matched the tone of the voice. I haven't played many earthbound roles, so it was a bit of a trial and error, but Yumiri really led me! I hope you can sense the gap between my body proportions and appearance and my personality.
I'm also looking forward to watching the broadcast to find out what kind of atmosphere the other characters have!!!
