The Japanese dubbed version of the web series "The Legend of Hei," which is the origin of the Chinese animated feature film series "The Legend of Hei," has been announced to be broadcast on television from October.
Ayane Sakura, Megumi Han, and Akari Kito will be appearing in the new film. A teaser PV and key visual have been released.

The web series version has been in production since March 2011 by Chinese animation director Mutou and Hanmu Chunhua (HMCH) Studio.
A total of 40 episodes have been produced to date, and the series is still being updated irregularly.
It is currently being distributed on Chinese platforms such as bilibili, and has been viewed over 700 million times in total on bilibili.

One day, a black cat fairy named Xiaohei is found seriously injured and wandering the streets when he is picked up by a girl named Luo Xiaobai.
Xiaohei is named "Luo Xiaohei" after the girl's surname and lives with her.
The animated film "The Legend of Hei: The Future I Choose," which was released in Japan in 2020, and "The Legend of Hei 2: The Future We Want," which will be released on November 7th, are prequels to the web anime version.

The Japanese dubbed version is a TV-sized version of the web series, with Sakura playing Xiaobai, Pan playing Agen, Xiaobai's cousin who lives in the countryside, and Kito playing Shangxin, Xiaobai's best friend who loves subculture.
It has already been announced that Kana Hanazawa, who plays Xiaohei, and Mamoru Miyano, who plays Mugen, will continue to play their roles from the film. Miwa Iwanami will serve as sound director.
The teaser PV features voice recordings of the black cat Xiaohei, who lives with Luo Xiao Bai and his friends, while the key visual depicts the group having fun playing with nature in the mountain forest.
