The second season of "Ranma 1/2" will begin airing on Nippon TV and other networks from October 5th.
Details of the broadcast and streaming of the TV anime "Ranma 1/2 (Season 2)" have been announced, with it set to start on Nippon Television at 12:55 a.m. on October 5th.
A digest movie of Season 1 and information on the theme song have been released, and it has also been decided that a special advance screening will be held prior to the broadcast of Season 2.
The original work is a slapstick fighting romantic comedy by Rumiko Takahashi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) from 1987 to 1996. It depicts the hectic daily life of Ranma Saotome, who turns into a woman when splashed with water, and his father Genma, who moves to the Tendo household where his fiancée Akane lives.
As he gets involved with his unique friends, he laughs, cries, and sometimes falls in love. The first season of the TV anime, produced by MAPPA, aired from October to December 2024.
In addition to being broadcast on Nippon Television, the show will also be broadcast on Aomori Broadcasting, Television Iwate, Yamagata Broadcasting, Yamanashi Broadcasting, and Nankai Broadcasting at the same time on the 5th at 12:55 AM, and will then be broadcast nationwide on Nippon Television affiliates.
It will also be exclusively streamed on Netflix immediately after broadcast.
The digest movie for the first season is titled "You can still catch up! TV anime 'Ranma 1/2' Season 1 digest movie" and is about four and a half minutes long, looking back on the first season with newly recorded narration by Ranma (voiced by Yamaguchi Kappei) and Ranma (voiced by Hayashibara Megumi).
The opening theme song for the second season has been decided to be "Wow Ai Ni" by the music unit "Wednesday Campanella." The ending theme song, "Panda Girl," will be sung by Nishina.
A special advance screening will be held at United Cinema Toyosu in Tokyo on October 4th.
In addition to screening the first and second episodes of the second season, there will also be a talk show featuring Yamaguchi, who plays Ranma, and Hidaka Noriko, who plays Akane.
Tickets are priced at 3,000 yen (tax included), and a clear file will be distributed as an admission bonus.
Pre-request lottery tickets are being accepted at Lawson Ticket until September 7th.
Comments were also received from Inoue Kazuhiko as Happosai, Mayama Ako as Colon, and Ishida Akira as Gosunkugi Hikaru, who were announced as additional cast members in June.
[Kazuhiko Inoue (role of Happosai)]
I'm pleased to announce that I will be playing the role of Happosai.
Happosai is a role that was played by my mentor, Nagai Ichiro.
The image of Nagai playing Happosai is still firmly burned into my mind. I'm honored. I'm truly happy.
I'd like to carry on Nagai's spirit and play to the best of my ability as Inoue Kazuhiko.
Thank you very much for your support.
[Ako Mayama (role of Colon)]
This is Mayama Ako, who will be appearing as Colon from season two.
The other day I met S-san at work and he suddenly said to me, "The first time I met Ako-san was in Ranma 1/2," which surprised me!
I had completely forgotten about it. Apparently I played a female student.
I think I was so nervous that I didn't remember anything.
My connections have come to fruition here!!! I'm so grateful.
A set full of legends. It's great to be working with them.
Please look forward to it from October.
[Akira Ishida (role of Gosunkugi Hikaru)]
No explanation is needed for longtime fans, but even in a series full of strong characters, Gosunkugi Hikaru, who appears timid at first glance, has an unusual drive towards Akane that I think stands out.
Please enjoy this season as well, as they are revived in the 21st century and the ridiculous situations that unfold.
